Companion dog is a dog that does not work but provides companionship as a pet rather than doing any specific tasks.  Dogs are treated as companions because of their friendly nature and high level of obedience. Puppies while growing up are fun to play and for their innocent antics. Pure breed dogs are high in intelligence and obedience due their breed traits.
